Follow On Courses
This course has been designed to continue development of skills introduced during the Puppy & Beginner course, as well as giving you and your dog opportunities to learn new skills in a more challenging environment.
Course dates:
We run the 5 week Follow On course at Chesterton, Bradwell or Clayton periodically throughout the year.
🐾 The course is limited spaces so every handler and dog gets 121 time with the instructor. This will ensure all dogs are progressing during the more difficult tasks.
Places are currently available on the following course:
- Saturday 11th March, 2pm at Bradwell

Can my dog join this course?
The course is designed to progress your dogs obedience so they must be able to focus around a small group of dogs.
As we are working towards exercises at a distance your dog should be able to be off lead or on a long line.
What will my dog learn on the course?
Each course will be tailored to the ability of the dogs on the course so flexibility is key, however within the 5 weeks we will aim to cover skills such as:
🐾 Focus on handler around moving dogs and people
🐾 Beginner scent work to help with calmness and 'find it' activities
🐾 Settle - remaining calm on a mat whilst you have a conversation or sit at a table
🐾 Recall with temptation - leaving items on the floor and still come back to you
🐾 Emergency stops - whilst your dog is running get them to stop
🐾 Send your dog to their bed or mat
🐾 Working towards having your dog off lead during exercises
🐾 Door manners - sit and wait whilst you go through a door or gate
🐾 Confidence building & paw targets - helping your dog's positioning and balance whilst walking on unusual surfaces.

Puppy & Beginner course - 6 week course to teach basic obedience such as recall & leadwork, focus work, confidence building and social interactions. Open to all breeds and ages.

Lead work, Jumping Up, Recall and refresher workshops available periodically throughout the year.
